Realized I was sending generic proposals for 3 years until a client called me out
Last month a prospect in Denver said 'your proposal feels like everyone else's' and it hit me I was just copying templates. Now I customize the first page with their exact problem and my proposal win rate went from 30% to 60%. Has anyone else tried ditching templates for bespoke pitches?

Same thing happened to me with a Boston client last fall. Now I land way more deals.

Three months ago I would have rolled my eyes at a post like this, but @derekwalker I gotta say you changed my mind. I started testing your approach with a few small clients and the difference was noticeable pretty quick. One guy actually said he appreciated how upfront I was about the process. I still don't think it works for every industry, but for service based stuff it seems solid. Not sure why I fought it for so long honestly.
