Paid $3,200 for a 'growth system' that was just a spreadsheet

Last spring I signed up with this agency coach from Austin who promised a plug and play growth machine. He sent me 47 videos and a Google Sheet that was supposed to track everything. Turns out the spreadsheet was just a list of generic tasks like 'post on social media' and 'send 5 emails.' I lost 6 weeks following his process and ended up with zero new clients. The only useful thing he said was to stop buying courses and actually pick up the phone. I called him out on it and he blamed me for not executing hard enough. Has anyone else gotten burned by these so called growth systems that are just recycled content?

That spreadsheet probably did have some truth in it though. I've been in business 15 years and the number one thing I tell new contractors is to stop buying fancy programs and just call people. The real stuff is boring, repetitive, and nobody wants to sell it to you for 3 grand. I get the frustration, believe me, I've wasted money on dumber stuff. But you paid for a kick in the pants, not a system. The coach was a jerk about it, sure, but the lesson still landed. Now you know the work is the work.
