Our client onboarding process took 3 months to fix when I thought it would take a week

We had a huge bottleneck where new clients in our Austin office were stuck for weeks waiting on initial strategy docs. I thought automating a template would solve it in a few days, but the real issue was our internal approval loop. It took a full quarter to rebuild the workflow from the ground up. Has anyone else had a simple process fix turn into a major rebuild?

Totally get this. Used to think adding more people to a process would speed things up. On a site project, we kept throwing more laborers at a foundation issue. Turns out the survey was wrong from the start. Had to rip out weeks of work. Sometimes you gotta stop the line and fix the first step, even if it hurts.

Man, why do we always think the fix is gonna be so easy? I was sure I could patch my leaky roof with some tar last fall, ended up replacing the whole thing after the first big rain. Sounds like you and @scott.ryan both found the hard way that a quick patch just makes a bigger mess later. That approval loop stuff is always a killer, it's like trying to run with your shoes tied together.
