Just realized I need to stop saying yes to every client request
Overheard a bigger agency owner at a coffee shop in Denver say 'your niche is your filter' and it hit me. Last month I took on a landscaping client that had nothing to do with our ecom work and it cost me 20 hours of rework. How do you guys decide what to turn down?

Have you ever noticed how saying no to one thing just makes saying no to the next thing harder? I once turned down a client and then spent the whole week second guessing myself.

Oh man, I gotta jump in here because that's actually not quite right (at least in my experience). I've found that saying no gets easier the more you do it, not harder. Like, the first time I turned down a client I felt awful, but after I saw how much time I saved for the good clients, it became almost automatic. You know what helped me? Making a literal list of what fits our work and what doesn't, so when a landscaping guy reaches out I can just glance at the list and say "sorry, not for us" without second guessing.
