I finally realized why my cold email reply rates were tanking after 6 months of tweaking subject lines

Spent two whole days building a custom tracking spreadsheet and found out my deliverability was shot because I was sending from a Gmail account that hadn't been warmed up properly. Has anyone else wasted months on the wrong fix before finding the real issue?

Spent three months tweaking my open rates before I noticed all my emails were going to spam because I'd typed my own domain name wrong in the settings. Sometimes you gotta laugh at how dumb these problems really are.

Oh man, the tracking spreadsheet thing is such a trap though. You gotta be careful with those too because if your spreadsheet columns are off or you're tracking the wrong metrics, you'll just end up chasing ghosts. Like, I spent two weeks once tracking open rates by hour of the day before I realized my actual problem was that my email list had a ton of invalid addresses from an old lead magnet. The domain name thing is hilarious though, I can totally see myself doing that and staring at the problem for a month before catching it. Sometimes the fix is literally right in front of your face and you're just too busy overcomplicating everything.
