Hot take: I thought referral programs were a scam until one brought in $4k last month

I spent a year ignoring referral programs because they felt like those sketchy multi-level marketing things. Then a client I'd worked with three years ago randomly sent a friend my way after I didn't even ask, and that one deal paid for my whole month's software stack. Anybody else have a low-key referral system that actually works without being pushy?

Ha! Right? I basically treated referral programs like they were gonna ask me to recruit my grandma into selling essential oils. Then a former coworker I hadn't talked to in two years just randomly sent me a lead that closed for like $2,500. I felt so dumb for ignoring it. Now I just have a little note at the bottom of my email signature that says "send me a client and I'll buy you dinner" and it actually works.

Haha, yeah the email signature thing is genius. So simple but it works because people actually see it.
