Chose freelance work over taking a full-time agency job last month

I had an offer from a decent agency in Austin offering $72k salary with benefits. At the same time I had two freelance clients ready to sign for about $5k a month total. I took the freelance path because I wanted control over my schedule. Now one client pays late every invoice and I'm scrambling to find a third project. Anyone else regret turning down a stable paycheck for the freelance life?

Man, $5k a month for two clients is a pretty sweet deal if you ask me. That's like getting paid for working half the week and coasting the rest. Unless those clients are absolute nightmares who call you at 2 AM about something dumb, then it's barely enough. I've had one client who took up all my time and still complained, so two of those would drive me nuts.
